Facebook | Ralph Marston - The Daily Motivator's Notes

The path between wanting and having is doing. To stop just wanting, and begin having, then start doing.

The greatest, most well-conceived plans are worthless if they're not acted upon. If it's going to happen, someone must make it happen.

All sorts of outstanding opportunities are open to the person who is willing to take action. Be that person, take that action, with commitment and persistence, and reap the valuable rewards of fulfilling those opportunities.

You don't have to be a world-renowned genius to be smart enough to take action. You don't need anyone's permission to act on your dream.

You must simply do it. Figure out what has to happen and take complete responsibility for making it happen.

Anything you truly desire is within your reach. Simply stand up, lift up your commitment, lift up your spirit, lift up your arms and do precisely that -- reach.

Free From Need

What do you really need? What if some of the things you think you need, you do not need at all?

Do you really need the approval of others? Do you really need to be offended by things that don't even affect you?

Do you really need that order of fries or that fourth cocktail? Do you really need to speed through the light that's already turned yellow?

Imagine being free of the burden of so much self-imposed and useless need. Instead of being boxed in by your nagging little needs, you can be empowered to fulfill your greatest desires.

The next time you instinctively act out of a sense of need, stop and ask yourself something. Is it really a need, or is it just a comfortable way to hide from your best possibilities?

Choose to stop needing so much. As soon as you do, you'll find that you have more than ever.

Live life fully while you're here. 'Anthony Robbins'

“Live life fully while you're here. Experience everything. Take care of yourself and your friends. Have fun, be crazy, be weird. Go out and screw up! You're going to anyway, so you might as well enjoy the process. Take the opportunity to learn from your mistakes: find the cause of your problem and eliminate it. Don't try to be perfect; just be an excellent example of being human.”

Fresh Morning: If You So Choose

“If you so choose, the challenges can make you stronger. If you so choose, the disappointments can make you more determined.

If you so choose, every mistake can lead to greater understanding and effectiveness. If you so choose, every frustration can help you to be more patient and more persistent.

If you so choose, even the unexpected setbacks can bring new and positive possibilities. If you so choose, you can find value and fulfillment in every circumstance.

If you so choose, each day can be filled with even more joy than the one before. If you so choose, even the most seemingly random events can work in your favor.

If you so choose, you can remain steadily focused no matter what distractions may attempt to throw you off course. If you so choose, you can look back on this day with no regrets.

Life is filled with an endless variety of circumstances, opportunities and possibilities. If you so choose, you can make the most of it all in this and every moment.”

Just Walk Away

Words that Make You Go ... Hmmmmm ......

"Love is an awesome force.
It can make us do things we never imagined possible.
For you see, we don't actually choose love, it chooses us.
And once it has, we are powerless to do anything about it. "

If you love something, set it free; if it comes back it's yours, if it doesn't, it never was.

Taoist Beliefs

Taoists stress the importance of harmonizing with nature by balancing yin and yang, and developing chi through meditation and disengagement. The human body is regarded as a source of chi-derived energy, which some people have the power to concentrate and congeal into an essence. Chi (also spelled ch'i or qi) is variously known as the "breath of heaven," “mystical breath,” the "breath of nature" and the "quality of spirit"

Taoists advocate a life of simplicity, and encourage their followers to perform good deeds not bad ones, and seek inner peace through the cultivation of optimism, passivity, and inner calm. "The simple, natural life is the ideal one, the wise person seeks to conform to the slow gentle rhythm of the universe."

Going with the flow rather and accepting things as they happen rather than pursuing power and wealth are important concepts in Taoism. Taoists emphasize naturalness, personnel freedom and happiness. Taoists believe that sickness is often caused by sin and bad deeds that disrupt the healthy flow of chi. Taoism morality is based on the Three Treasures of Taoism: 1) be charitable; 2) be thrifty; 3) do not push ahead of others.

A Reason, a Season, or a Lifetime

People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime.
When you figure out which one it is,
you will know what to do for each person.

When someone is in your life for a REASON,
it is usually to meet a need you have expressed.
They have come to assist you through a difficulty;
to provide you with guidance and support;
to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually.
They may seem like a godsend, and they are.
They are there for the reason you need them to be.

Then, without any wrong doing on your part or at an inconvenient time,
this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.
Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.
What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled; their work is done.
The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Some people come into your life for a SEASON,
because your turn has come to share, grow or learn.
They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.
Believe it. It is real. But only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons;
things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation.
Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person,
and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life.
It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

Thank you for being a part of my life,
whether you were a reason, a season or a lifetime.

Working on My Bucket List

What’s a Bucket List?

If you haven’t heard about the bucket list, it is a wish list of all the goals you want to achieve, dreams you want to fulfill and life-experiences you desire to experience before you die. The term is inspired by the movie The Bucket List (2007) about two terminally ill men (Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman) who set off to achieve a list of things they want to do before they die.

So, i am now working on my bucket list where I list all the things I want to do, feel, experience, see and achieve before I die :). This should be fun and maybe give my life some kind of purpose.

In Retrospect

Everyone deserves to be happy and fulfilled in their lives
life is just too short to always do the "right" thing

too short to deny oneself of certain pleasures and fantasies
It is great to keep a fantasy alive
and within respect to others involved

~ limited communication is enough

No need to raise anxieties or complicate things

there will 'probably never' be a separation from the ones who we have made a lifetime commitment to
~ I really love you
and will continue to love you
I will always look forward to and treasure every moment
that we have the chance to be together

Thoughts from the Soul

Many people believe that love is so exclusive and unique that even entertaining the thought that you're in love with two people means you're not really in love with either. But that's not what I think. The idea that love has to be confined to only one person is a myth and most likely what we were brought up to believe in.

The truth is, most of us don't want to entertain the possibility that our love can extend to two individuals at the same time, because it's too scary to imagine being in such a confusing state!

Alas, our hearts have a lot more capacity for affection than we give them credit for - or are brave enough to recognize.

Think about it: We can love more than one of our children and parents at any given time, and appreciate each of them for his or her own special attributes. In the same way, different romantic partners offer different things.

Let's say you meet someone who is loyal, totally smitten, and offers you personal and economic stability. His good heart and good intentions make you love him. He's what you want. But then you meet another. He is soulful, gifted, romantic and impractical. He's the epitome of every romance novel hero. You become friends, you're attracted to him, you dream of him at night. He's what you want.

Impossible? No. Impractical? Yes. And that's why we try to figure out who's the "real" love of our life, so we can end the confusion..

Of course, if you love two different people, you don't have to act on it. Say you spot your old flame at your high school reunion and realise that the relationship embers still smolder. You, a happily married woman, are shocked at your reaction.....!

Well, you needn't be. We hold a special place in our heart for first loves — the ones who got away. It doesn't say anything bad about your marriage or your relationship values, it says only that you had - and have - something special with someone from your past. You can acknowledge that and still be true to your vows.

If you are deeply attached to more than one person, the real question is: Can you be happy just knowing your heart swells with so much love, or do you need to get involved with both individuals?.

Why do People Continuously Deceive Other People?

One deceit needs many others, and so the whole house is built in the air and must soon come to the ground.

In love deceit almost always goes further then mistrust.

I am sensible, cautious, careful & practical. I am clever, gifted, or talented, but modest. I am not a person who makes friends too quickly or easily, but someone who's extremely loyal to friends I do make and I expect the same loyalty in return. Those who really get to know me realize it takes a lot to shake my trust in my friends, but equally that it takes me a longer time to get over if that trust is ever broken.

Freedom 2010

The major astrological event for you in 2010 is the movement of lucky and optimistic Jupiter, your traditional planetary ruler your Sun sign. Jupiter takes 12 years to go around the Zodiac and so this represents the beginning of a major new 12 year cycle of personal growth and development for you. With Jupiter in your Sun sign, you may gain a sense of freedom and release now. Therefore if certain aspects of your life are not quite working out as you think they should, this may be the time to move on, let go of the past and explore pastures new. You're also likely to feel and appear increasingly more confident and self-assured and therefore you will be able to present a more positive self-image of yourself to the world.

After a While by Veronica Shoffstaff

After a while you learn
The subtle difference between
Holding a hand and chaining a soul
And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning
And company doesn't always mean security.

And you begin to learn
That kisses aren't contracts
And presents aren't promises
And you begin to accept your defeats
With your head up and your eyes ahead
With the grace of a woman
Not the grief of a child

And you learn
To build all your roads on today
Because tomorrow's ground is
Too uncertain for plans
And futures have a way
Of falling down in mid flight

After a while you learn
That even sunshine burns if you get too much
So you plant your own garden
And decorate your own soul
Instead of waiting
For someone to bring you flowers

And you learn
That you really can endure
That you are really strong
And you really do have worth
And you learn and you learn
With every good bye you learn.

Promise Yourself

  • To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.
  • To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person you meet.
  • To make all your friends feel that there is something worthwhile in them.
  • To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.
  • To think only of the best, to work only for the best and to expect only the best.
  • To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.
  • To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
  • To wear a cheerful expression at all times and give a smile to every living creature you meet.
  • To give so much time to improving yourself that you have no time to criticize others.
  • To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
  • To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world, not in loud word, but in great deeds.
  • To live in the faith that the whole world is on your side, so long as you are true to the best that is in you.

Thoughts

Destiny – nothing happens by chance

Luck – is when preparation meets opportunity

The Laws of Attraction – works and is in action

Progress – don’t worry about those I have to leave behind

Stress – time must be spent alone to recoup and rejuvenate

You are the master of your own destiny – I decide what happens to me; don’t look at what others are doing.

Life is what you make it. – I have to go on regardless of who tries to keep me back

New challenge – do what has to be done to get where you want to go. Do not depend fully on any one to collaborate with you on your journey. Each person is on their own journey. What you are looking for on your journey is not necessarily what others will want to include on their journey. Don’t look back, don’t hesitate, GO! Go onward on your journey and remember to enjoy every moment of the journey. "BourMac"

The Serenity Prayer

The Serenity Prayer

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

"One Moment in Time"

Each day I live, I want to be
A day to give the best of me
I'm only one, but not alone
My finest day is yet unknown

I broke my heart fought every gain
To taste the sweet, I face the pain
I rise and fall, yet through it all
This much remains

I want one moment in time
When I'm more than I thought I could be
When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away
And the answers are all up to me

Give me one moment in time
When I'm racing with destiny
Then in that one moment of time
I will feel, I will feel eternity

I've lived to be the very best
I want it all, no time for less
I've laid the plans, now lay the chance
Here in my hands

Give me one moment in time
When I'm more than I thought I could be
When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away
And the answers are all up to me

Give me one moment in time
When I'm racing with destiny
Then in that one moment of time
I will feel, I will feel eternity

You're a winner for a lifetime
If you seize that one moment in time, Make it shine

Give me one moment in time
When I'm more than I thought I could be
When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away
And the answers are all up to me

Give me one moment in time
When I'm racing with destiny
Then in that one moment of time
I will be, I will be, I will be free
I will be, I will be free
